Rapid Retail celebrates historic event with Lotus
Rapid Retail, the Cheltenham-based supplier of high quality modular retail units, was in pole position at the Classic Team Lotus Festival at Snetterton last Sunday.
The event, a celebration of one of Britain’s most iconic names, was held on the eve of the 500th Grand Prix for the Lotus marque in Valencia. The current Lotus F1 team, Jarno Trulli, Heikki Kovalainen and Fairux Fauzy, delighted revellers with their presence, whilst the squad’s 2010 car made its first UK public appearance alongside every Lotus Grand Prix car raced between 1958 and 1994.
Rapid Retail supplied the event organisers with two fully branded units: a 6m x 3m shop for the sale of Lotus marque and Lotus F1 merchandise and a 2.7m x 1.5m kiosk for the launch of Club Lotus – the new official fan club. The units were branded in traditional green, sporting the numbers of both Trulli and Kovalainen and located at the heart of the circuit, taking pole position amongst the numerous displays, high speed circuit demonstrations and activities on offer during the day.
Providing a complete retail service to its client, Rapid Retail also supplied an event manager and various sales staff, who ensured busy tills at the merchandise shop, together with a team of promotional girls, who were on hand to recruit new members for Club Lotus.
Nick Daffern, Rapid Retail’s Managing Director said: “We are thrilled to be involved in such an historic and prestigious event. As a business we are experiencing continued success and our innovative design team is at the forefront of that success. The units designed for this event have brought the versatility, portability, design and branding of our shops to another level.”
In business for four years, Rapid Retail has secured contracts for many sports stadia, venues and events, at home and abroad, including a large number of English Premiership and Championship clubs, the Brit Oval, Stade de France and prestigious events for high profile clients such as Adidas and INTERSPORT.
Nick adds: “It’s great to see that more and more sporting clubs and event organisers are capitalising on the advantages of using portable retail space. The units are self funding, with minimum or no capital outlay, and are therefore a flexible and low cost way to drive revenue through maximising opportunities to buy and increase customer turnaround.”
