Midlands company helps bring London 2012 Olympic Handover Party to life

Rapid Retail, the UK's leading supplier of flexible retail shop units and kiosks, was on hand to help revellers to enjoy the celebrations at the recent Olympic Games Handover party in Central London.

 The Cheltenham based business supplied officially branded kiosks and bespoke retail units to Event Merchandisers Ltd, the official event organisers, providing revellers with plenty of opportunity to purchase official merchandise tickets, programmes and mementos.

Rapid, who are themselves celebrating, a bumper sales year, has already secured contracts to supply a variety of bespoke units at some of the UK and Europe’s major sporting venues and earlier this year the firm provided a souvenir shop for London’s entertainment attraction The Movieum – which opened in February at County Hall.

Nick Daffern, Rapid Retail's Managing Director, said: "We were delighted to be involved on such a special day, especially after the superb performance by Team GB in Beijing, it was good fun and it was great to be in at the beginning of the run up to London 2012. It also shows again how versatile our shops and units are. Although, we've enjoyed successful in the last 12 months supplying both Manchester's United and City, Aston Villa and many other senior sports venues the principles remain the same. We aim to enhance the experience of the consumer by ensuring they can buy their mementoes without having to queue for ages. For the LOCOG party, as with our other clients, we have supplied highly-branded shop units so that people can not miss them."

Along side its successes in Manchester, where it also supplied units to sell official merchandise at the 2008 UEFA Cup Final, last year Rapid's kiosks were used to sell programmes at the Stade de France in Paris for the Rugby World Cup. Rapid Retail shops and Kiosks have also become a prominent feature at the Brit Oval cricket ground it’s also supplied a special bar for Gloucester Rugby Club last season for its Heineken Cup Quarter Final match against Munster.
