New concourse retail units launched

Leicester Tigers, one of the Aviva Premiership’s top rugby clubs, will soon be showcasing next season’s new kit to their legions of fans. KitBag, Leicester’s merchandise partner and one of the UK’s leading sports retailers, has appointed Rapid Retail to supply the club with three new state-of-the-art concourse retail units.

Rapid Retail’s units are known for their innovative product design and the new mobile retail units, which will be installed on the concourse of the club’s Welford Road stadium, have been branded to reflect the team’s colours and logos and devised to showcase and promote the sale of the new official merchandise.

Rapid’s units are specifically intended to help ease pressure on the busy club shop and bars and improve the experience for visitors by reducing time spend queuing. This provides fans with better access to club merchandise and gives the club an affordable way to access flexible and adaptable retail floor space,  helping them to generate increased retail footfall and maximise impulse purchase opportunities.

The company has enjoyed significant success supplying bespoke units to many leading sports stadia and venues in the UK and Europe and, despite the recently announced recession, the company is having a buoyant year so far, having provided both Cheltenham Race course and Aintree with a state-of- the-art mobile turnstile unit which were used for the Gold Cup and Grand National respectively, installed information kiosks at Chepstow Race course, provided Thatchers with a specifically designed bar unit to be used at the Somerset cricket ground and have recently taken an order for two 12x2m and two 6x2m merchandise units for European top flight football club Barcelona.

In addition, due to the Easter Sunday trading laws, which, due to their size, prohibited Manchester United and Arsenal football clubs from opening their on-site shops on that day, Rapid Retail provided each club with a temporary merchandising unit, allowing trade to continue for the thousands of fans supporting them during their Easter scheduled premiership match.
